BENCHMARKING AS AN INSTRUMENT FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF LOGISTICS PROJECT LOCATION IN URBAN AREAS

Abstract:
The article discusses benchmarking as a method for improving the competitiveness of municipalities. The theoretical section outlines the possibilities which benchmarking offers to administrative authorities of urban areas with regard to the assessment and improvement of competitiveness of their respective areas being a prospective location for logistics projects. The practical section is focused on presenting results obtained in studies investigating promotional tools used by administrative authorities, and analysing the highest rated investment offers prepared by municipalities within the Wielkopolska province.
