Analysis describes the transportation system of petroleum products, namely diesel oil and ethyl gasoline, from oil refineries to bulk consumers. In order to analyse the subject, available macroeconomic data as well as information from biggest fuel producers in Poland was taken under consideration. Petroleum products transportation system in Poland is based on fuel pipelines supplemented by railway transport. The bulk consumers are fuel bases that provide storage and reloading services. Spatial analysis of fuel distribution network in Poland shows that number, size and localization of fuel bases does not meet present and future requirements of fuel markets in the country. Therefore after performing a verification of existing network, localization of new bases was indicated and new distribution network was described. In order to supply new bases with petroleum products, new sections of pipelines were also planned. The final part of analysis includes general and detailed conclusions considering the development of fuel distribution system in Poland.
